123 Coding Cards

Happy Friday! Today we introduced students to the coding cards. This morning we had guest readers come in and read their favorite stories. The students loved Alexander the Terrible No Good Very Bad Day. So to introduce the coding cards, we made our robots have a no good very bad day. The students loved seeing the robots go crazy and changing colors. What are some other projects you used when introducing the coding cards?

Oh wow -what a great idea and way to introduce the coding cards. Terrific.

What a great lesson @Desiree_White-Price! (And that is such a great book too.) You could also have students add extra sounds to their projects too

@Laura_Mackay and @Anna_Blake what are some other ways you (or your teachers) have introduced Coder cards?

I love the idea of using Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day!! @Desiree_White-Price thank you for sharing! We did the Creepy Carrots book and had the students drive VEX to the pictures to re-tell the story in sequence. There is a lot of sequencing and retelling of stories in kindergarten here! So almost any book will do, but I bet the engagement was higher in Desiree’s lesson because the students love the Alexander book!!
