Code: The Hidden Language of Computer Hardware and Software

Recently, @Audra_Selkowitz, @Aimee_DeFoe, @Lauren_Harter and I started reading this book on the recommendation of @Tim_Friez.

Code: The Hidden Language of Computer Hardware and Software by Charles Petzold

It’s been so interesting so far! The book begins by breaking down Morse Code and Braille and how these codes, which were Independently developed, came to the same conclusion about using this binary system. For Morse code, that is dashes and dots and for Braille, the raised versus not raised. But it gives really accessible explanations to these and I can see where it is building to next.

Has anyone else read the book? If you have, I’d love to hear about what parts stuck out to you as an aha moment.

As I keep reading, I’ll share any fun nuggets here!
