Cross-curricular: Science & VEX GO

This week in Science we started studying plant parts and their functions. What a better way to do an informal assessment than to have my students use their VEX GO kits to create a plant that included the parts we learned about: flower, stem, leaves, roots. After their build I asked them to point out the four parts and tell me the functions of each. Here are some of the builds.

THIS IS SO AWESOME!!! @Tina_Dietrich I love the free building you’re doing here, and the creative formative assessment - the students’ faces speak volumes to the value of students being a part of assessment, and not feeling like it’s something being done ‘to them’.
