I read a quote from Jay McTighe on Twitter recently that I wanted to share: “Feedback without the chance to use it to make adjustments is like eating without digesting.” So true! Providing feedback is only one part of the process - an opportunity to implement the feedback is of equal importance. Building in the structure and time during the school day for students to implement feedback promotes an environment in which constant improvement is possible, bringing together growth mindset and high expectations in such a way that students can challenge themselves and thrive at all levels. Feedback is part of a process, not separate from it, just as digestion can’t be separated from eating!
