GO Math Activities - Equivalent Fractions

I was looking for hands on activities for intermediate students to practice fractions. I noticed that the beams of each size could represent halves, thirds, fourths, etc. up to fourteenths, using the number of holes (excluding center hole).

Equivalent Fractions: See Photos Below of setup, with one beam of each size pinned to board with red pins and labeled with denomination. Two of these boards can be made with each GO kit. It can be played as a game with 2 - 3 students, with or without a timer. The 1st student uses a green pin or yellow standoff to pick a fraction. If fraction picked is where a red pin already is, the red can be changed out for a green pin. Other student(s) locate ALL the equivalent fractions on the board with green pins or yellow standoffs in the time allowed to get the point. If they don’t, the 1st student gets the point. If a student picks a fraction that has no equivalents on the board, the answer is None.
