Groundhog's Day

Students are going to create a home for a Groundhog using a paper roll. Students must code their robot to the hole where the Groundhog is waiting for his grand appearance. Once they reach the Groundhog, students can pull up Phil and state his prediction. You can add black construction paper to some of the groundhogs to make it look like their shadow. Pass along and hope you enjoy. @Danielle_McCoy @Tina_Dietrich

@Desiree_White-Price, this sounds awesome! Each group could also code their “groundhog” to a different hole on their fields and the other students could predict where the groundhog will end up
like a modern technology Battleship game!!

I love these ideas! One of my favorite Kindergarten conversations every year was always in response to “Today is Groundhog Day! What do you think a holiday called Groundhog Day is all about?”

I think you could probably turn the 123 Robot into a groundhog also with the Art Ring, and have it drive out of its hole to either shadow or no shadow, to make a ‘prediction’.
