Thanksgiving Day Parade with Robots!

@Aimee_DeFoe and @Audra_Selkowitz did such a great job with the Halloween activities PD+ video last month, I was inspired to share some ideas for Thanksgiving! One of the most memorable parts of Thanksgiving Day is the Macy’s Parade, and that would be so great to recreate with your robots!

For 123, students could decorate their own floats with the Art Ring Canvas.

For GO, you could have your students complete the Parade Float STEM Lab Unit! They design their own floats on the Code Base and then create code to have their robot drive through the parade route.

The Up and Over STEM Lab Unit for IQ could be a great resources for teaching students about arm designs and having them design and build their own arm on a BaseBot to raise and lower elements of a float or work as a lift for the large balloons in the parade.

For V5, you could have students do a similar project to the Parade Float STEM Lab from GO, using a Speedbot as the base of their float design. Their additions for the float could be secured with metal components from the V5 Kit, but incorporate building materials from outside the kit. This could be a great engineering design activity for V5 students.

If you have any other parade activity or holiday ideas, I would love to hear about them!
