We are using the VEX GO Magnet car build to teach properties of magnetism in third grade. In Texas the lab covers both a Force and Motion TEKS and a Matter TEK, so you cover a lot of subject matter in a few lab lessons. We wanted the students to have a choice on testing, so we set up the fields in a few different formats so students could test at different places. Level 1 is the straight field. Level 2 or Bonus test is the fields with a bend. Posting to see if others might share any other ways they did Magnet cars.

We used these various fields today and are thinking that the additional extension we might add will be to have them time and record data to see which course was the fastest, which took the longest, is it more efficient to push or pull, benefits of the straight course vs. the multi-directional course, etc.
